Flukespan Timbers

A 2-foot high gnome in traveller's leather, with long blonde hair, large pointed ears, and a prodigious nose

Born in the heart of the woods near Neverwinter whilst his mother, Brightspark, was travelling with his father on business, Flukespan was not your typical gnome. Fizzlepop, his father, was a craftsman and mechanist involved in the logging industry, and the family called the bustling city of Neverwinter their home. While others were content with a peaceful life amidst nature, Flukespan had yearned for adventure and the thrill of the unknown ever since he could remember.

The youngest child, Flukespan was surrounded by many brothers and sisters: Bumblewick, Underbough, Knotwhistle, Gearturn, Mossmeadow, Pebblebrook, and Erky. As a child he would often sneak out of his home with his older siblings to explore the dense woods, their small stature and nimble feet allowing them to move unseen and unheard past the militia guarding the city gates.

It was during one of these escapades that Flukespan stumbled upon an abandoned chest deep in the wood, filled with shiny but worthless trinkets and treasures, and several tomes in different languages. The sight of shiny baubles and the thrill of danger ignited a spark in him, leading him down a different path. The books he slowly attempted to read, giving one in particular to his brother Erky—apparently full of mage spells, Erky showed a distinct interest.

Neverwinter was a city teeming with opportunities. Flukespan slowly made a slight name for himself in the city’s underbelly, his reputation growing with small heists. Whilst his brothers and sisters—who he loved dearly—always knew of his daily shenanigans and dubious activities, his parents probably had no idea (or so Flukspan liked to believe)

Living in the shadows, Flukespan navigated the intricate web of Neverwinter’s minor street politics and petty power struggles, always staying below notice of the larger criminal groups such as the Dead Rats, Coin Spinners, and Gilders. His quick wit, charm, and only very minor criminal exploits made him unworthy of too much notice. Indeed once Erky became a member of the Arcane Brotherhood, an infamous wizard’s guild, Flukespan found he was able to hide behind the growing fame of his brother despite his line of work.

Flukespan recently received an invitation from a contact simply known as ‘Lyra’, who indicated to him that someone important from Waterdeep would like to meet with him to ‘assist him with his training’. Lyra even gave a pass phrase to use upon greeting this mysterious person. The only thing that made Flukespan take the matter seriously was that she mentioned that the individual had something to do with a group called the ‘Wee Folk’, and, most importantly, was somehow closely linked to the infamous Stormwatch!

Idris Tae’loc

A long-faced figure with grey skin, cloaked and hooded in a close fitting black robe, with glowing red eyes and a growling smirk that promises trouble

He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn’t play for the money he wins
He don’t play for respect

He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of a probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that’s not the shape of my heart

Jondo

A fancy-armoured, smirking, green-skin orc with a top knot testing a swords edge

Uthar Grak
