Having extracted Warden Galin’s confession, Marko went to work trying to convince him to ‘do the right thing’, which initially left Galin nonplussed, but when Marko left a small vial of dire looking liquid it became clear what was meant. Galin instead decided to hand himself over to the Emerald Enclave agents, suicide not being a common practice among the Wood Elves.

He gave control of Altand over to Janos, head guard, who thanked Stormwatch at a brief council meeting before urging you on to address the still present threat of the Green Dragon.

After a futile day of waiting to see if Galin’s dragon rider would return (or his rodent messenger appear), you departed Altand to head to the meeting place Galin mentioned. This you found without trouble, and by studying the treetops were able to determine a theoretical path of approach for the Dragon.

Following this path you were soon surprised to hear cries for help from nearby. Rushing to scene you found a venerable woman trapped beneath an enormous fallen tree. Martmaal hesitated, not convinced this wasn’t an elaborate trap, but the fearless (or is that feckless?) Jorin rushed in to help, quickly joined by Bally and Ash.

After some effort you managed to start to raise the trunk, when suddenly it raised of its own accord! The woman stood, clearly uninjured, and bowed to each of you in turn, praising your selfless heroics in helping her (and the three ‘trees’ that were slowly loping around the clearing).

She gave you directions to the Dragon’s Lair, telling you of the destruction it had wrought to ‘her’ forest. She also reached into her hair and produced garlands from the flowers growing there, and offered to place them around each of you. Only Martmaal refused, to which she appeared to take no offence.

You moved further into the forest, seeking the spidery approach to the pooled mouth of a cave. This you found without trouble, though the spiders — and their Ettercap allies — provided a little. You soon found the cave entrance and made your way inside.

The Green Dragon Lair

Marko and Ash discovered a group of ill-equipped and out of place Elves at the foot of the entranceway. Both tried to convince them that leaving was the best part of valour, though they were clearly terrified of Draconic retribution. The arrival of Jorin and the rest of you in a less than graceful approach led them to scarper — being punched by Jorin seemingly convincing them that you were unlikely to let them live otherwise.

Working your way further in you found a deep but empty pool, with a ledge to the South watched over by more Elves. Choosing not to engage them, you made your way up a tunnel to the North, where you found a group of Dragonclaw and Dragonfang: these guys you knew how to kill. A brief but intense conflict ensued, with Stormwatch emerging victorious once again, despite the arrival of reinforcements.

As you congratulated yourselves Ash and Donald were suddenly hit by Eldritch arrows from a half seen figure disappearing to the North. With a yelp of fury Ash moved like no living thing normally moves, flashing out of the room and into the corridor ahead. His sudden pursuit clearly caught the fleeing elf by surprise, and battle was drawn.

The skirmish was interrupted by a cloud of poisonous gas, but that was not enough to dissuade Ash who forced the Elf further back. Jorin by this point had almost reached them, but both he and Ash were surprised in turn by an explosion of acid as the next chamber was reached. Ash once again used his otherworldly speed to avoid being splashed, and before he knew had happened the elf fell dead beneath Ash’s viscous rain of vengeance.

The Green Dragon rider was dead. But what of his mount?
